The Surena II humanoid robot project began in 2008 with financial support from the R&D Society of Iranian Industries and Mines. It was finished on July 3, 2010.
It was 1.45 meters tall and weighs 45 kilos and had 22 degrees of freedom in total. It was capable of walking statically and regular arm and leg movements were among its characteristics.
Unlike previous robot version, this robot moved like a human. Like most humanoid robots, this robot had 12 degrees of freedom in the lower body (6 degrees in each leg).
