The design and fabrication of the Iranian humanoid robots called "SURENA" has been carried out at the Center of Advanced Systems and Technologies (CAST) at the University of Tehran. This Center was established in 2005, under the management of Dr. Aghil Yousefi-Koma, professor at the School of Mechanical Engineering.
The center which includes a range of technical and human resources is seeking to acquire new methods, innovative technologies and keep pace with the leading research centers in the world.
